Improve teacher benefits package;
Raise teacher salaries to the national average by 2009;
Improve funding for academically gifted programs;
Improve funding for disabled children, remove caps;
Reduce dropouts, offer incentives and alternatives, improve job skills training programs at the high school level;
Further reduction in class sizes;
Greater focus and emphasis on gangs in schools.
ECONOMY:
Lessen the tax burden on local employers with a demonstrated success rate and history;
Reduce unemployment, creating fobs in the following industries: warehousing, importing, exporting, commerce, trucking, environmental;
Offer greater tax incentives to encourage industries to relocate to Robeson County;
Encourage small business development opportunities with grants and interest free loans for Robeson County citizens to expand their business or open a new business;
Protect our farmlands and offer incentives for farmers to enter into nontraditional farming operations;
Protect our environment, improve public awareness beginning with our children.
MEDICAL/SOCIAL:
Insurance for all children;
Affordable health care for everyone;
Ensure adequate, reliable services for seniors and the disabled;
Funding for elder care for the most needy senior citizens such as SENIOR DAY CARE;
Reduce waste and mismanagement in the health care and mental health industry.
